Loans granted through First Home programme exceeded 1 billion lei

Chisinau, 22 April /MOLDPRES/- The number of people who have purchased their own home under the First Home programme reached 2,071.
Of the 2,071 beneficiaries, 1,499 are young families, and 572 are unmarried young people. For the purchase of dwellings, commercial banks provided loans amounting to 1,026 billion lei. At the same time, the total amount of the active guarantees is 513 million lei.
According to the Organization for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, the average area of the dwellings purchased through the programme is 59.53 square meters. The average age of applicants is 31 years. The vast majority of dwellings purchased through the programme are located in cities, the number of those who chose to buy a house in the villages is only 132.
Most beneficiaries preferred to purchase a dwelling in Chisinau. Their number reached 1,572. Another 204 dwellings were purchased in Balti municipality.
The First Home programme was launched at the initiative of Prime Minister Pavel Filip on 26 March 2018.
