New trolley models to be assembled in Chisinau

Chisinau, 22 April /MOLDPRES/- By late September, two articulated trolleybuses will be assembled in Chisinau. The statement was made today at a weekly meeting of the city hall services.

"I want to replace two of these vehicles running on line 22 with new and comfortable ones. We will thus be able to reduce the blockages on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard and to transport more passengers in the peak hours," acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said.

Dorin Ciornîi, the head of the Electric Transport Company, said that the company is currently in talks with the production plant, which assured that the transport units could be delivered to the Republic of Moldova in September. After arriving in Chisinau, transport units will be assembled for two weeks.

Besides the two articulated trolleybuses, the company also plans to assemble 10 classical trolleybuses and five-running autonomously.

Currently, RTEC has 314 trolleybuses.
