Moldovan cabinet earmarks 2.6 million lei to remove consequences of natural calamities

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ – It has been allocated over MDL 2.6 million from the Government's intervention fund (FIG) for eliminating the consequences of strong wind of 11 March 2019. The Cabinet has approved the decision on it today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The money was distributed to the local public authorities for repair of the House of Culture and kindergarten in village Cotiujeni, Briceni district, repair of the gymnasium in village Mandresti, Telenesti district and repair of a house in village Chistelnita, Telenesti district.

Also, it was allocated an amount of MDL 21,700 to the Ministry of Defence for the recovery of expenses incurred in unlocking the transport units in the areas affected by the heavy snowfall of 11 – 12 January 2019.

The FIG is intended to finance urgent spending for eliminating the consequences of natural disasters, in case of epidemics, but also in other crisis situations.
