Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ – More than 100 socially vulnerable persons in Chisinau have received humanitarian aid today during the Easter holidays.
The director of the Caritas Foundation, Andrei Bolocan, the event organiser, said that humanitarian aid consists of rice, pasta, flour, oil, canned food, tea, etc. "These ones were collected during the humanitarian campaign – Donate against poverty!, which took place on 13 April in 15 shops in Chisinau, where over 70 volunteers welcomed the buyers with the urge to donate heavy perishable food to support people in need: elderly people, families with many children and disadvantaged people. Altogether, there were collected over four tonnes of food," said the director of Foundation.
According to Andrei Bolocan, the list of needy people was made through the social assistance directions of the municipality, and some elderly are permanent beneficiaries of the Foundation.
