Moldovan PM demands that competent structures ensure easing of state border traffic on Easter Holidays

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today demanded that the leadership of the Interior Ministry, Customs Service and Border Police do their utmost to ensure the easing of the traffic at the state border, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„We are in the Easter week. We know that, on this period, many of our fellow countrymen come home for holidays and obviously the border flow will increase. Please, take all measures, so that people feel as comfortable as possible when coming home,” Pavel Filip said.
In the context, Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan noted that this subject had been discussed with specialists of the Romanian Border Police, as a larger flow of travelers is recorded at the Moldovan-Romanian border. Therefore, the competent authorities of Moldova and Romania agreed on a string of actions, in order to speed up the crossing of the common border on the period of the Easter Holidays.
Director of the Customs Service Vitalie Vrabie informed that, to ease the border traffic on this period, the number of employees, as well as of the verification equipments had been increased. At the same time, all control lanes are to be used, no matter the direction of crossing. Last year, the cross-border flow of transport units grew by about 20 per cent on the period of the Easter Holidays.
Also, Pavel Filip asked to ensure public order and the anti-fire security nearby the churches of Moldova on the Easter night. Also in the context of the holidays, the PM demanded that the leadership of the Public Services Agency ensures the good work of the multifunctional centres, in order to give Moldovan fellow countrymen possibility to process identity acts.
