Central military hospital provided with modern equipment

Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/- The Central Military Hospital has been equipped with new investigation appliances worth over seven million lei, purchased from public money, through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
According to the UNDP press service, the hospital serves as a priority servicemen, civil servants and retirees of the Ministry of Defense, their family members and all Moldovan citizens who need treatment.
"The equipment was quite old, Soviet period, which did not allow us to perform necessary investigations, and the new devices will certainly increase the number of requests for Military Hospital services," chief physician of the institution Vladimir Trofimov said.
With UNDP support, a semi-digital imaging device was purchased. The hospital's surgery department has been provided with a multifunctional table of operations that allows the patient to be positioned according to each case.
Instruments for the sterilization of medical instruments and a modern appliance for anesthesia have also been purchased and installed.
The Central Military Hospital has 20 departments and offices. It was set up in 1992, based on the former military hospital in Chisinau garrison, which worked in Soviet times. UNDP has also purchased medical equipment for medical service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
