Freight and passenger transport between Moldova, Belarus to be liberalized

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/- The irregular freight and passenger transport between Moldova and Belarus will be liberalized. This is stipulated in a recently signed Protocol between the two states.
The Protocol on amending the Agreement between the government of Moldova and the government of Belarus on international road traffic of 9 April 1994 implies the development and efficiency of the Moldovan-Belarusian cooperation relations in road transport. According to its provisions, irregular transport of persons and goods under bilateral, transit and to / from third countries shall be carried out without transport authorizations, which will develop the road transport, the exchange of goods and will facilitate the travel of the people of both states.
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici said that the liberalization under bilateral, transit and to/from third-country transports will help increase the competitiveness of road transport operators at regional level, as well as reduce the administrative burden, including reducing operational costs.
The protocol was signed in Minsk by State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Serghei Bucataru and Alexei Liakhnovici, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus.
