1,050 people with disabilities received new wheelchairs

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/- 1,050 people with disabilities received new wheelchairs from the charity organization "LDS Charities.Inc", USA, and with the support of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

According to the ministry, all wheelchairs will be distributed to the beneficiaries under the lists presented by the Republican Experimental Centre for Prosthesis, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation (CREPOR).

Attending the event, State Secretary Viorica Dumbraveanu said that the ministry backs projects of non-governmental organizations actively involved in ensuring the integration of people with disabilities in society.

According to CREPOR data, about 1,010 people with disabilities are on the waiting list to be provided with wheelchairs.
