Moldova's north city hospital gets new equipment with support of Japan

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ – The district hospital in Donduseni was provided with modern equipment following a modernisation project implemented under the Grants Programme for Human Security Kusanone.
The grant amount offered by the Government of Japan was about $94,000, which was used to purchase ultrasound system of colonoscope videoendoscopy, electrocardiography, several types of analisers etc.
"Purchasing such equipment strengthens the ability of institution to provide high quality medical ultrasonography to diagnose and treat pathologies of digestive tract and heart disease, conduct lab investigations etc. All these are significant benefits for our patients," said sources from the Donduseni hospital.
The Kusanone programme was launched in Moldova in 2008. So far, an amount of 55 projects, mainly in public healthcare, pre – school and school education, have received grants of over $4.5 million from Japan.
According to Japanese Ambassador to Moldova, Masanobu Yoshii, who visited the Donduseni hospital on 17 May, the aim of programme Kusanone is to promote human security and enhance the life quality, so most of programme beneficiaries are medical and educational institutions in Moldova.
