Over 100 slate sheets snatched, more roads flooded out of recent rainfalls in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ – Over 100 slate sheets have been snatched and more local road sections have been flooded by heavy rainfalls registered in Moldova on 24 May.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations' (IGSU) information and media communication service, the heavy rainfalls and wind gusts have snatched about 100 slate sheets from the roof of three residential houses in locality Untesti, Ungheni district, and rainfalls destroyed almost 0.3 km of local road in village Radeniii Vechi.
In Cahul the rain has compromised agricultural crop areas in localities Giurgiulesti and Caslita Prut, and there were flooded local road sections in Slobozia Mare. Some abundant precipitations have also occurred in localities of districts Leova, Rezina, Orhei, Straseni and Gagauzia. In localities Cotovscoie, Etulia and Cismichioi in Gagauzia, the rain has damaged local road sections and affected agricultural crops. In Cismichioi village, there have been affected around 24 ha of vineyards and 23 ha of cherry and plum orchards.
The Territorial commissions for exceptional situations (CTSE) work to estimate the amount of damages.
