Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ - The road of access to the Miclesti village (central Criuleni district) and the road Peresecina (Orhei district)- Hartopul Mare-Ohrincea (Criuleni district) will be repaired, as a result of a contract signed by the State Administration of Roads and a constructions company from Moldova today.
The contract is part of a project on improvement of local roads, for the carrying out of which the World Bank provided the Moldovan government with financial support worth about 100 million lei.
According to Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici, the repair of the aforementioned roads, which are part of the Corridor 11, is of strategic importance, as they provide connection between the central and northern Moldova.
„We are set to repair all corridors of local roads from Moldova, in order to provide citizens with access to all education, health and commerce centres. With the help of experts, we have identified 25 corridors and started the improvements from the most problematic road segments,” the minister said.
At the same time, Chiril Gaburici encouraged local entrepreneurs to participate in tenders for the construction of national roads. “Companies from Moldova are competitive to carry out such works. Entrepreneurs should prove more courage and apply for strategic infrastructure projects from our country. Experience is acquired through work,” the official stressed.
The Corridor 11 begins from intersection with the M2 national road Chisinau-Orhei-Soroca and ends at the intersection with the national road R23 (Criuleni-Branesti-Ivancea-M2). The corridor makes connection between more settlements, passing through the villages of Peresecina, Miclesti, Isnovat and Hartopul Mare. The length of the road segment due to be improved is of 18.5 km.
