Premier, EU commissioner discuss Moldova's European agenda

Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn. The agenda of the discussions included both the political situation in the country and the Moldova-European Union relations.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the officials stressed the importance of ensuring the political stability in Moldova, as well as of continuing the reforms based on the Association Agreement. In particular, the sides highlighted the fields in which progress has been made: public administration reform, banking system, business environment, health and social sector, as well as the fields where additional efforts are to be made to achieve sustainable results: justice, fighting corruption and human rights.
Commissioner Hahn evoked the expectations for a new government, so that the reforms are continued for the benefit of citizens and cooperation with EU.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that, on the governmental dimension, the pro-European course remained the only road of Moldova’s development. The strengthening of the political dialogue and the development partnership with EU represent important prerogatives of the pro-European course. The PM underlined that Moldova relied on a continuous commitment on behalf of EU in the implementation of the reforms’ agenda, for the good of the citizens.
