Term of action of protocol decision on full resumption freight trains' movement through Transnistrian region extended by six months

Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip on 4 June 2019 signed an additional protocol on the protocol decision on the principles of full resumption of the freight trains’ movement through the Transnistrian region from 30 March 2012, according to which the decision’s term of action was extended till 31 December 2019, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
Under the procedures established, the additional protocol was countersigned also by Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselsky.
Protocols of this kind were signed on 26 September 2012, 23 September 2013, 24 December 2014, 14 March 2015, 30 December 2016, 29 December 2017 and 27 December 2018.
The protocol sees the further enforcement of the mechanism of customs clearance of goods carried by train through the Transnistrian region at the stations Bender-2 (Varnita village) and Rabnita (Rabnita city), with the implementation of the principle One Stop Control and ensuring the free movement of people, goods and services.
In the context, the Reintegration Bureau reminds that a similar six-month term was extended also for the import of oil products through the border checkpoint Novosavitskaya-Cuciurgan, with giving possibility of charging customs duties for these products at the customs checkpoint Bender-2. A government decision was approved to this end at a cabinet meeting from 29 May 2019, under which needed amendments were made to the Government Decision No 1232 from 9 November 2016 on aspects of import of oil products through the eastern border.
