Zinaida Grecianii elected as speaker

Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/- Zinaida Grecianii was elected today as speaker, although the Constitutional Court ruled that any action or legislative act that aims to carry out the activity of Parliament after the occurrence of the circumstances of compulsory dissolution is a serious violation of constitutional provisions and are null.
The PSRM leader's candidacy was singled out and was supported by 56 MPs. Lawmakers of ACUM bloc Iurie Renita and Octavian Ticu announced that they did not vote for Zinaida Grecianii's candidacy.
The PSRM leader voted as speaker, was congratulated by the head of state.
MPs of ACUM bloc and Socialists convened today in a plenary meeting even through the Constitutional Court ruled that the legal term for the formation of a government expired on 7 June and parliament is due to be dissolved. The court said that in the event of the circumstances of compulsory dissolution of the Parliament as a result of the legislative blockage and / or the impossibility of forming the Government for 3 months (90 days), Parliament is not entitled to carry out legislative activity and to perform the tasks provided by article 66 of Constitution and to set out governing bodies of the parliament.
