Euro to slightly appreciate against Moldovan leu

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - The single European currency will appreciate by 0.15 lei on 25 June and will have an official price of 20.73 lei.

According to the official exchange rates posted by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), the dollar will preserve the price of 18.20 lei. At the same time, the Romanian leu will appreciate by 0.04 lei and will stand at 4.35 lei.

The exchange rate of the Ukrainian hryvnia will stay unchanged – 0.69 lei. The quotation of the Russian rouble will not undergo changes too. It will continue to cost 0.28 lei.

BNM’s data shows that, in May 2019, the degree of coverage of the net demand of currency on behalf of economic agents by the net supply of currency on behalf of private people was of 84.6 per cent, as compared to 124.4 per cent in last April. The net supply of currency on behalf of private people increased by 3.3 million dollars (+1.6 per cent) against last May and the net demand on behalf of economic agents grew by 82.9 million dollars (+49.4 per cent). In these conditions BNM intervened through net sales of currency worth 14 million dollars.
