Moldova, Slovakia to deepen bilateral dialogue

Chisinau, 26 June /MOLDPRES/- The deepening of the Moldovan-Slovak relations, the implementation of the Association Agreement and the implementation of the reforms to ensure the European integration of Moldova, were the issues discussed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu with Foreign Minister of Slovakia, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Miroslav Lajčák, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.
During a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the European Council for Foreign Relations held in Lisbon, Foreign Ministers Nicu Popescu and Miroslav Lajčák discussed the areas of cooperation in which the interaction between Moldova and Slovakia can be deepened.
Also, referring to the latest developments in Moldova, the Slovak diplomat welcomed the peaceful transfer of power in Chisinau and expressed support for the efforts of the new government in the implementation of the Association Agreement and implementation of reforms meant to ensure the country’s European integration.
The two officials exchanged views on the Transnistrian settlement process.
