National Food Safety Agency of Moldova says most leisure camps work without serious infringements

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ - The allowing of non-recommended food products and banned for minors in children’s nourishment, non-observance of the conditions for preservation at the stocking of foodstuffs, use of frigorific equipment without devices for monitoring the temperature are some of the infringements discovered in the work of leisure camps in Moldova. Specialists of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) have made more controls to this end in the last weeks.
The verification of the camps for leisure and recovery of the health of children and teenagers in the 2019 summer period is part of the agenda of the inter-ministerial commission which subjected to monitoring the work of the institutions which provide services based on tickets insured by the National Trade Unions Confederation of Moldova and National Social Insurances House.
The ANSA representatives, as members of the commission, checked the sanitary and hygienic conditions in the cooking rooms, procurement, preservation and cooking of food products. “In general, we have found out satisfactory conditions for the providing of public nourishment services, in line with the legislation, at most leisure camps,” ANSA sources noted.
Based on the non-conformities identified, decision-makers compiled informative notes with warnings addressed to the managers of the leisure camps. They were obliged to remove all irregularities in due time.
In the beginning of this summer, the National Food Safety Agency worked out an instruction on the evaluation of the level of preparation of the camps’ cooking rooms. At the same time, some provisions on children’s nourishment in camps were changed.
Seventy seven day cams and 46 stationary ones work in Moldova on the 2019 summer period and 51,000 children and teenagers in all are scheduled to benefit from their services.
