Moldovan parliament speaker meets ambassadors of EU states

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii and the ambassadors of the EU member states, accredited in Chisinau, today discussed the outcomes of a recent visit to Brussels by the speaker, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The parliament speaker made a retrospective of the discussions held with European Parliament President David Maria Sassoli, noting that she reiterated Moldova’s position of promoting a balanced foreign policy. Grecianii also referred to the present inter-parliamentary relations, prospect of the bilateral cooperation.
According to the speaker, the discussion was very good. The sides stressed the fact that the Association Agreement with EU must become functional and the actions carried out should be in the people’s interest.
For his part, Head of the European Union Delegation in Moldova Peter Michalko appreciated the strong signal, confirmed at the meeting with the European Parliament president, for the commitment in the implementation of the Association Agreement. “You have our every support to this end,” Ambassador Peter Michalko stressed.
At the meeting, the sides also tackled subjects on the institutional reforms, general local elections, subsequent bilateral relations, etc.
