Parliament speaker has meeting with representatives of European Business Association, American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - The fight against corruption is one of the priorities of the parliamentary majority, as we cannot underestimate the negative impact this phenomenon has on the development of Moldova and the business environment. Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii today made statements to this effect at a meeting with representatives of the European Business Association (EBA) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham), the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
The speaker stressed the openness for cooperation with the business environment in the process of working out and consideration of laws. Zinaida Grecianii noted that he spoke out for a predictable and long-lasting legislative framework, able to ensure the development of business and attract new investments to Moldova. She opted for the return to the practice of approval of the medium-term fiscal and budgetary policy, such as a three-year cycle. Also, the speaker declared for the consultation of related laws with the business environment till the final adoption of the documents.
The EBA and AmCham representatives welcomed the position of Zinaida Grecianii. They conveyed her one set of proposals and recommendations for the parliament, which regard short- and medium-term priorities of investors.
The sides discussed the need to ensure the transparency of the decision-making process, involving the business environment for verifying the enforceability of laws and expertise, as well as the measures necessary to turn Moldova into a competitive and attractive state for investors.
The business people thanked for the opportunity of this exchange of stances and agreed with the priority set forth by the parliament speaker to edify a rule of law state as a premise for the country’s economic development.
Attending the meeting were Deputy Parliament Speaker Alexandru Slusari, who is in charge of the economic set, heads and deputy heads of the relevant commissions.
