Number of cases of acute diarrheal diseases increase in Moldova

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 615 cases of infectious diseases, intoxications and adverse reactions were recorded in Moldova’s capital last week, - - up by 146 against the week before and by 119 cases more against the same period of the last year. Data to this effect was unveiled at an operative meeting of the Chisinau city hall’s services today.
The head of the city hall’s social assistance and health general department, Tatiana Bucearschi, has said that 320 out of those 615 cases were acute diarrheal diseases, by 44 ones more against the previous week. For these reasons, 177 sick people were hospitalized in medical institutions. As many as 204 cases of acute diarrheal diseases were registered in children.
At the same time, 18 cases of tuberculosis, of which three ones in collectives, six cases of scarlet fever and three ones of measles were recorded during the last week.
