Moldovan PM asks for Moscow Ambassador to be called to Chisinau for consultations

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/- Today Prime Minister Maia Sandu asked Foreign Minister to call Moscow Ambassador for consultations on the visit to Chisinau of Russian Defense Minister Serghei Soigu.

Minister of Defense Pavel Voicu will have a meeting on August 24 with his Russian counterpart, Serghei Soigu. The meeting, however, as well as the entire visit of the Russian minister will not be an official one, announced Maia Sandu, and no official agreement or agreement could be signed at that meeting.

"You have not made the necessary steps, respectively this visit is not an official one. The government is not involved in this visit, no official agreements can be signed. Șoigu can visit the Republic of Moldova as a private person. The question is about the composition of the delegation. When he comes on a private visit, he cannot have a delegation, ”the premier said.

"In the future, if you want to invite guests in the Republic of Moldova, these invitations must be in accordance with the law. The government must be notified in advance, so that the embassies and the Foreign Ministry are involved, ”the prime minister added.
