Andrei Nastase - candidate for mayor position

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- The candidate of the ACUM bloc for Chisinau mayor position is the leader of the Dignity and Truth Party (PDA), Andrei Năstase, who currently holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs. Prime Minister Maia Sandu made the statement in a TV show.

"It's clear to everyone, it's Mr. Andrei Nastase. The decision was made a long time ago ”, said Maia Sandu.

Earlier, the PDA said it will participate in the general local elections and the partial parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 in the Electoral Block with the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and will have common candidates in the polls.

Andrei Nastase has previously avoided saying whether he will run for mayor of the capital.

Socialists announced in mid-August that Ion Ceban would be the PSRM candidate for the head of the capital.

The general local elections will be held on 20 October.
