European People's Party appreciates important role of Moldova's parliament in reforms' promotion

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grecianii today had a meeting with Joseph Daul, President of the European People’s Party (EPP) – the political formation with the most representative group in the European Parliament, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.   

Zinaida Greceanii said that Moldova highly appreciated the dialogue with EU. She expressed the authorities’ interest and willingness to carry out the reforms underway along with the European partners, taking into account their need and usefulness for the Moldovan citizens.        

”We are aware of the necessity to implement the agreements Moldova is party to, including with the European Union; the observance of these commitments is part of our joint agenda with the partners from the parliamentary majority,”  the speaker stressed.    

In the context, Zinaida Greceanii said that, in her tenure of parliament speaker, she would take needed efforts to maintain the efficient and functional character in the activity of the parliament from the present legislative period.     

The parliament speaker emphasized that the results of the reforms, due to change for the better the living of Moldova’s citizens, would not leave themselves  expected, if the partners of the parliamentary majority – Party of Socialists and ACUM Block – further display mutual understanding.       

For his part, Joseph Daul said that the parliament of Moldova, the authorities, in general, were experiencing a period of major importance for Moldova.    

”You have a historical opportunity to advance your country on the way of a  functional democracy, fair justice, rule of law state and in this respect, you can rely on our every support,” the EPP president said.
