Priorities of Moldova's foreign policy discussed in capital of Germany

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ – The priorities of the foreign policy of the Government of Chisinau, development of the reform process, progress in the Transnistrian dossier, the growth of the commercial – economic circuit as well as advancement of Moldova on the path of European integration were among the issues of the Berlin talks of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, with more German officials from the Office of the Federal President, Federal Chancellery, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, as well as a public presentation to the German Foreign Policy Association, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The head of Moldovan diplomacy has presented the reforms initiated by current executive, focusing on the key sectors: justice reform, consolidation of rule of law, modernisation of infrastructure, provision of energy resources of state, all aimed at raising the welfare of population. In this context, it was expressed the intention to strengthen the bilateral relations with the states in the region, while respecting the basic priority of foreign policy – dynamic implementation of provisions of Association Agreement and advance throughout the European path.
The public presentation from the German Foreign Policy Association had as a generic the challenges and results of the Government in Chisinau in the first months of activity and the role of EU within reform process. At the round of questions/answers the present public had the opportunity to inform about the political and social – economic situation in Moldova.
On 15 – 17 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, pays a working visit to Germany at the invitation of his German counterpart, Heiko Maas.
