Moldova relies on UN assistance in achieving national development priorities

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ – The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has met, on Thursday, 28 November, with UN Resident Coordinator in Moldova, Simon Springett. The head of state has congratulated him on the occasion of his appointment to this position, the presidency’s press service has reported.
During the discussion, Igor Dodon has specified that the UNO is an important partner of Moldova, expressing his belief that the productive interaction will continue in order to advance the development agenda of Moldova, including the sustainable development objectives.
The Head of State has highly appreciated Agenda 2030 of UNO, which clearly sets out the priorities and aspirations for global development that Moldova has accepted.
Also, the President has expressed gratitude for the assistance offered to Moldova through the Partnership Framework for sustainable development, in key areas such as: governance, human rights and gender equality; sustainable economic growth and inclusive and equitable social development. In the context, Igor Dodon has mentioned that Moldova still relies on UN technical expertise and assistance in achieving national development priorities in more fields.
At the discussion end, President has reiterated the consolidated position of the top leadership of Moldova on implementation of the reforms undertaken and of all the agreements concluded with external partners of Moldova.
Also, the President of Moldova relaunched the invitation to the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, to pay an official visit to Moldova in 2020.
