Moldova interested in permanent boosting of bilateral dialogue with Japan

Chisinau, 04 December /MOLDPRES/ – President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan in Chisinau, Masanobu Yoshii, on Wednesday, 04 December. The head of state has welcomed the consolidation and extension of Moldovan – Japanese relations during recent years, underlining the interest of Moldova for ascension of the bilateral dialogue in perspectives too, the presidency’s press service has reported.

Igor Dodon has pleaded for enhancement of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of common interest, particularly for exchange of know – how and attraction of Japanese investments into Moldovan economy.

The President has expressed sincere thanks for the constant support offered to Moldova along years, with Japan being one of the most important donors of Moldova, after USA and EU. Thus, the head of state has mentioned that Moldova still relies on that assistance.

In this context, Igor Dodon has welcomed the availability of Japanese side to participate in the projects of support of Moldovan economy, such as financing purchase of special vehicles for firefighters, offering advantageous loans for modernisation of agriculture and creation of Agrifood Centre.

The President of Moldova has directed sincere thanks to the Japanese diplomat and appreciated the kindness with which he was welcomed at the Ceremony of Enthronement of His Imperial Majesty, Naruhito, an event attended by the delegation of Moldova, in October 2019.

As referring to the changes in political arena of Moldova, the President has reiterated that existing Government will continue the initiated reforms, respecting all commitments assumed previously and continue to promote a balanced foreign policy.
