Moldova, State of Qatar to boost economic cooperation

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Moldova Hamad Rashid Al-Athba. The two officials discussed opportunities of bilateral cooperation in the social and economic sectors, as well as investment opportunities existing in Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported. 

Referring to the development and strengthening of the economic ties between the two countries in the long run, PM Chicu stressed the need to actively promote the business opportunities offered by Moldova to business people from Qatar, through organization of business forums and missions.  

”We are concerned about the attraction of investments to the country’s economy, which are to develop competitive enterprises and provide stable jobs. Therefore, knowing the investment potential of the State of Qatar, we want to see as many as possible investors from this country in Moldova,” the prime minister said.

The charge d’ affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Moldova gave assurances that he would contribute to fostering the dialogue, in order to identify and promote opportunities of bilateral cooperation. Hamad Rashid Al-Athba reaffirmed the support and wish of the Doha authorities to bolster the economic cooperation between Qatar and Moldova.
