Political dialogue, cooperation of Moldova – USA within security, defence discussed at ministry of foreign affairs

Chisinau, 06 December /MOLDPRES/ – The prospects of Moldovan – American cooperation in priority areas such as implementation of democratic reforms, security and defence, trade – economic cooperation have been discussed, on Friday, 06 December, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Aureliu Ciocoi, with the Deputy Assistant of the U.S. Secretary of State, George P. Kent, paying a visit to Chisinau.

According to the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, the head of Moldovan diplomacy has reiterated the commitment of Government to continue democratic reforms and build the rule of law according to provisions of Association Agreement with EU for the benefit of all citizens of Moldova.

Minister Aureliu Ciocoi has appreciated the support offered by USA for the democratic processes of Moldova, highlighting the results of projects implemented during recent years. He has emphasised the interest in capitalising on the Strategic Dialogue with USA and expanding the areas of cooperation of Moldova and USA.

The interlocutors have also exchanged views on the process of settlement of Transnistrian issue, energy security and regional situation.
