Ukrainian investors to invest in planting of intensive cherry orchards on Moldova's left bank of Dniester

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/ – The investors of Ukraine intend to cultivate in self – proclaimed rmn high – yielding varieties of cherries and strawberries. A project in this regard, estimated at $01 mln, was approved on Monday, 23 December, by authorities of Tiraspol, with reference to regional sources.
According to the head of so – called investment agency in self – proclaimed rmn, Andrei Betanov, the plantation will be cultivated in Slobozia district. On an area of 40 ha it is planned to plant Italian varieties of cherries and strawberries on a closed plot. The equipments and seedlings can be purchased already in January 2020.
According to quoted source, the main market for production (90 per cent of crop) is Russia. It is expected that the cost of the project will be recovered for 06 years, with an annual profit of about $800,000.
Also, the Tiraspol authorities claim that the new company will offer ten new permanent jobs, with the training of up to 30 seasonal employees.
Later, with the development of business, investors plan to open lines for processing and growing vegetables.
