Moldovan president participates in Gala of Chess Federation laureates – 2019

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/ – Igor Dodon, as President of the Chess Federation of Moldova (FSM), attended on Monday Chess Federation laureates Gala – 2019, the presidency’s press service has reported.
The Head of State gave with great pleasure 42 prizes to best players, coaches, referees, as well as the event organisers. Igor Dodon sent sincere congratulations to all laureates, but also to all those passionate about chess, wishing them beautiful achievements, health and well – being in 2020.
There is to mention that in 2019, there have been organised 32 national competitions. Moldovan chess players have participated in 20 international contests, and over 200 teams took part in the National Chess Tournament Turnul Alb between school teams.
Also, FSM held for the first time the international competition Veaceslav Cebanenco with participation of champions from Israel, Belarus, Georgia and Romania, as well as six chess players members of national group of Moldova.
Igor Dodon stressed that the Chess Federation is proud of its results and it will undertake new efforts to promote chess and achieve good results further.
