Moldovan PM meets trade unions' representatives

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today met representatives of the National Trade Unions Confederation (CNSM), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The sides tackled a wide range of social and economic subjects, such as the creation of jobs, increase in the minimum salary on Moldova, fighting the phenomenon of illegal employment and wage earners’ protection.
Prime Minister Chicu informed the trade union leaders about the Government’s Action Programme for 2020-2023, meant to ensure the modernization of the national infrastructure and attraction of investments, creation of stable jobs in Moldova’s regions and enhancing the people’s well-being.
In the context, the PM said: “The phenomenon of exodus or the phenomenon of illegal employment can be combated efficiently only by increasing the number of attractive employment opportunities. The government’s programme is aimed at ensuring proper conditions for investors capable to create stable jobs throughout the country.”
The trade union representatives touched upon the improvement of the Labour Code and its adjusting to the international standards.
The prime minister spoke out for a regular communication with CNSM representatives, in order to identify balanced solutions to the problems emerging. Chicu stressed that the government’s social and economic goals met the ones formulated by the trade unions.
Attending the meeting were CNSM president Oleg Budza, the head of the trade unions federation of railway-men, Ivan Zaporojan, the head of the trade unions federation of public services employees, Vlad Cantir, and others.
