Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/ – President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, welcomed Natalia Zabun and her 02 children at the Chisinau International Airport (AIC), which were in refugee camp Al – Hawl in Syria, without the right to leave that place, the presidency’s press service has reported.
The repatriation of Zabun family was made possible by the coordinated actions of Moldovan Info and Security Service (SIS) in collaboration with colleagues in Turkey, at the suggestion of President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, and the one of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The operation was carried out after, earlier this year, mother of Natalia, Ana Zabun, asked the presidential institution for help.
Natalia Zabun is a native of Moldova, Gagauzia, and since 2015 has been established with permanent residence in Syria. Due to military actions in it, at the beginning of 2019, husband of Natalia died, and she, along with her 02 minor children, 02 and 04 years of age, came to refugee camp where living conditions were extremely difficult.
In this context, Igor Dodon thanked Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his support in bringing the citizens of Moldova home. The head of state stressed that it is the duty of President of Moldova to take care of all the citizens of Moldova, no matter where they are.
"Let us rejoice for this family, which went through so much suffering, and from today it is at home, safely and with the beloved ones," said Igor Dodon.
