Government approves draft law on ratification of Moldova-Belarus agreement on social security

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved the decision on a draft law for the ratification of the agreement between Moldova and Belarus on social security, signed on 23 October 2019. The draft will be submitted to the head of state for consideration.
The treaty’s goal is that the citizens of Moldova, who carried out a temporary activity in Belarus, at reaching the retirement age, benefit from a pension from this state. At the same time, on the period of work, the Moldovan citizens should be provided with an income in social benefits, if insured risks appear, such as disability and loss of supporter.
The document regards the employees, independent employees, detached employees, staff of the diplomatic missions and consular offices, etc.
According to the principle of pensions’ calculation pro rata temporis, each contracting state will pay the part of the pension calculated proportionally to the period of insurance carried out on its own territory. The person will enjoy the right to benefit from the payments got in the states where they carried out their activity on the territory of the state of residence.
