One-off child-birth allowance to increase by 388 lei in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ - The quantum of the one-off child-birth allowance will increase by 388 lei from 7,911 lei in 2019 to 8,299 lei in 2020, according to a cabinet decision approved today.

Under estimations by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, about 40,358 children will benefit from the one-off child-birth allowance in 2020.

The need to promote a comprehensive policy on backing families with children is a priority of the government and is also a measure provided for in the strategy for the protection of the child for 2014-2020, which sees the development of pro-active policies of supporting the families with children and ensuring needed conditions for bringing up and educating children in the family environment.
