Import of oil products through Moldova's eastern border extended till 30 June 2020

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ - The import of oil products through Moldova’s eastern border for the economic agents from the Transnistrian region will be extended till 30 June 2020, according to an amendment today made by the cabinet to its own decision from 9 November 2019.
The 9 November decision was providing for the customs clearance at the Bender-2 post of oil products imported through the cross-border point Novosavitskaya – Kuchurgan till 31 December 2016. The protocol decision, On the principles of full resumption of the movement of freight trains through the Transnistrian region was taken after, in August 2016, Ukraine had ceased the import of oil products for the Transnistrian region by railway, through the border-crossing points Cobasna-Slobodka and Kuchurgan. As a result, the traffic of fuels was re-directed through the border crossing point Ocnita and was subsequently was carried to the railway stations Rabnita and Bender-2.
The decision was in force till 31 December 2016 and was subsequently extended under cabinet decision till 1 July 2017, respectively until 31 December 2017. The same procedure was carried out for the 2018 and 2019 years as well.
