U.S. dollar cheapens, euro appreciates against Moldovan leu on last day of 2019

Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ – On the last day of 2019, the value of U.S. dollar (USD) cheapens, and the cost of European single currency (EUR) appreciates against Moldovan leu (MDL).

Thus, USD costs MDL 17.20 for $1, on Tuesday, 31 December, by MDL 0.03 less than today, while EUR goes up by MDL 0.06 to the quotation of MDL 19.26 for €1.

According to official exchange rates stipulated by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), the price of Romanian leu (RON) gets more expensive, on 31 December. It appreciates by MDL 0.02 up to MDL 04.03 for L1.

At the end of year, the cost of Russian rouble (RUB) retains its value of MDL 0.27 for ₽1. The same trend preserves Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH), which continues to cost MDL 0.72 for ₴1.

The official exchange rates announced by BNM is valid on 01 January 2020, which is a free day for budget employees.
