Mansion of Lazo family from central Moldova district to be opened for tourists

Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ - The house museum, Mansion of Lazo Family, - a branch of the National History Museum of Moldova, from the Piatra village, central Orhei district, is close to the finishing of the restoration works and it will open its doors to visitors in the near future, according to Education, Culture and Research Minister Corneliu Popovici, who inspected the object on the last days.
“I exchanged opinions with the leadership of the National History Museum on the inclusion of the house museum, Mansion of Lazo Family, in the national and international circulation in the near future, once the restoration works are completed,” the official said.
The museum is a historical and architecture monument of national interest, included in the Register of Moldova’s monuments protected by the state.
The mansion of the Lazo family from Piatra is a typical house of the 19th century and represents a big building with more chambers, an annex and a terrace in the front, backed by eight big plastered circular pillars, with a belvedere-veranda placed on the axis of the façade, also supported by two pillars of the same size.
Representatives of a family of noblemen lived in this house and the house’s ambiance during years brought together numerous personalities of the national culture and history.
