Chisinau, 6 January /MOLDPRES/ - Hospitals from the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri will receive two X-ray apparatus, other medical equipment. This is a donation on behalf of the Health Ministry of Turkey. The bashkan (governor) of Gagauz-Yeri, Irina Vlah, and Moldovan lawmaker Ivanna Koksal reached an agreement to this effect at a visit to Ankara in late December 2019.
At the meeting, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca stressed that the authorities of Turkey had considered the needs of the medical institutions from the Gagauz autonomy and, as a result, they would donate two X-ray apparatus to the region, as well as other equipment for investigating patients’ health condition.
The sides established also to resume ‘’the health weeks’’, within which physicians from Turkey will provide free of charge consultations in settlements from Gagauzia, making also an exchange of experience with local specialists, according to the website www.gagauzinfo.md.
In 2019, nine patients from the Gagauz autonomy, who needed special care, benefited from treatment in clinics from Turkey. This is almost twice more, as authorities had earlier an agreement on medical assistance provided during one year only to five patients from Gagauzia.
