Moldovan premier participates in joint meeting with head of state, parliament speaker

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today participated in a joint meeting with President Igor Dodon and Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii. In the end of the meeting, the officials informed journalists about the subjects tackled at the meeting, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
President Igor Dodon noted that the sides had discussed such subjects as backing the institutions from the culture sector, social initiatives, as a result of which more than one million citizens will benefit from financial assistance, the need to monitor the evolution of prices, in order to protect the socially vulnerable segments and projects meant to improve the living standards in practically all Moldovan settlements. The head of state said that governmental programmes on water and gas supply and liquidation of unauthorized waste deposits would be launched.
Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii highlighted the usefulness of this format of communication, which has proved its efficiency in the first two months of the Chicu government’s mandate.
PM Ion Chicu also referred to the cabinet’s priorities for 2020. “A priority is the development of infrastructure and in 2020 we will turn Moldova into a big site for the construction of roads and other infrastructure. We will work intensely on the dimension of attracting investments and creating jobs in all Moldova’s districts. On 22 January, we will meet with all mayors of Moldova, in order to improve the cooperation with the local public authorities,” the prime minister added.
