Moldovan president summons first meeting of country's leadership of 2020

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today summoned a traditional weekly meeting, the first one of 2020, with the participation of Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and Prime Minister Ion Chicu.
According to the presidential press service, the head of state congratulated the citizens on the National Culture Day. He reiterated the current governance’s intention to pay special attention to the development and promotion of the country’s culture, including through the enhancement of the social protection of the employees from this sector.
Igor Dodon informed that the participants in the meeting had discussed more subjects of major importance, such as the implementation of infrastructure projects and social programmes, launched in late 2019.
Among the most important subjects tackled at the today’s meeting by the Moldovan top leadership, there was the initiative to re-establish the mechanism of weekly monitoring of the prices, first of all, for essential products. In this respect, Igor Dodon asked the government to undertake actions in order to re-launch the concerned process.
The officials today also launched several new projects, presidential initiatives to make the living better in settlements:
- national water supply programmes;
- villages’ illumination;
- sanitation and liquidation of waste deposits in the rural regions;
- finishing the settlements’ connection to gas supply
In the end of the meeting, the sides discussed the working agendas of the presidential institution, parliament and government of Moldova for 2020.
