Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu, at a cabinet meeting today, asked the leadership of the Interior Ministry to present a schedule of consolidating the institute of the district policemen till next mid-February.
The PM’s decision comes following more cases with high impact, including after a young man from the Costesti village, central Ialoveni district, had been beaten to death on the New Year night. “The district policeman is most connected to the community; he must know each citizen from the control zone; what plans he/she has, the interests, intentions. If the district policeman from Costesti worked properly, there would not have been such cases,” Chicu noted.
The prime minister demanded that Interior Minister Pavel Voicu sanctions also the employees in charge of the prophylaxis and diminution of the crime situation.
