At the same time, the program of this year's edition of the exhibition includes several thematic sections: wood and wood products; organic products; renewable resources; international food, agricultural events; innovation; agricultural industry; flowers; animals, as well as entertainment for the rural area. Manufacturers around the world consider this exhibition as an important market for sales and testing, as well as an opportunity to promote and strengthen the business image.
The first edition of the exhibition Green Week (then still not international) took place in February 1926, when an employee of the Berlin Tourist Office had the idea of combining the traditional winter meeting of the German Agricultural Society with an agricultural exhibition as a secondary showcase for fair participants. After the 90s of the last century, the event has developed significantly and within it special events are organized on topics such as German Cheese, and from 2005 - a technical program of over 250 lectures, seminars and symposia. It is the only international exhibition of this kind in the food, agricultural and horticultural industry.
