Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/- The decision on approval of the National Action Plan in energy efficiency for 2019-2021 will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 17 January.
The document provides for taking of a series of steps that would allow the implementation of the provisions of the sectoral normative framework and, given the availability of adequate financial support, to ensure the achievement of the national objectives set for energy efficiency.
The measures in the plan establish: the elaboration and completion of the necessary legislative and regulatory framework, including the secondary legislation related to the energy efficiency, the energy performance of buildings, namely the comprehensive methodology for calculating the energy performance, setting the minimum energy performance requirements.
It is also planned in the coming years to strengthen the institutional capacity for policy implementation, development and monitoring of energy efficiency financing projects; mobilizing the financial resources necessary to support the projects and measures to make consumption more efficient in all sectors of the national economy; improving the process of data collection and analysis in order to support the decision-making process and to develop effective policies.
The measures in the plan also include the development of the energy services market by applying energy performance contracts and the development of energy services companies, as well as demonstrating the main role of public authorities and increasing the efficiency in using the natural biomass potential available to the country.
