Moldovan president chairs meeting on 75th anniversary of Great Victory

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today chaired the first meeting of the working group in charge of the organization and carrying out of the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Attending the event were Defence Minister Victor Gaiciuc, Interior Minister Pavel Voicu, the presidential adviser for inter-ethnic relations, Serghei Misin, and the head of the Victory National Committee. According to the presidential press service, the participants in the meeting discussed the schedule of the carrying out, under the aegis of Moldova’s president, of far-reaching actions due to take place on this occasion. Thus, with the support of the Moldovan government, decision-makers plan to capitally reconstruct the Eternitate (Eternity) Memorial Complex from Chisinau. At the same time, a register of the military glory objects, in need of restoration, will be elaborated.
Also, the Guard of Honour from Moldova will participate in the anniversary Parade dedicated to the Victory, due in Moscow on the Red Square. It is worth mentioning that, at an invitation by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Igor Dodon will personally attend the festive event in Russia’s capital.
The participants in the meeting also considered a calendar plan of events with the participation of ministries and public organizations. Decision-takers plan to organize topic-related exhibitions, edit books, hold a festival of documentaries, etc.
In the context, the head of state also made an appeal to all Moldovan citizens, political forces and public organizations, no matter their preferences, to unite for the organization of a joint march of Victory in Chisinau on 9 May, after which a festive concert and a magnificent show of fireworks will be held.
