Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/- PECO stations in Moldova today displayed new prices for fuel. Economic experts say that increase was due to the increase in excise duties and developments on international markets.
The pump price for the most demanded A-95 petrol is 19.20 MDL, up by 0.55 lei as earlier, and for diesel 17.05 MDL, up by 0.65 lei.
The most consistent increases were made to liquefied gas. Thus, at some petrol stations, it came to cost 11.05 lei instead of 9.98 lei as before.
Petrol and diesel prices are calculated by operators, not by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), according to the methodology on oil prices, given the costs and annual rates of return on oil products traded per enterprise of up to 10 percent.
In recent years, ceiling prices for petrol and diesel have been set by ANRE every two weeks.
