Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - The deadline for submitting applications for the programme of grants provided for implementing projects in southern Moldova has been extended till 3 February 2020. To participate in the contest, the organizations interested will submit the application online and will be able to claim small grants worth up to 10,000 euros, medium-sized grants of 30,000 euros and big grants amounting to 50,000 euros.
Grants worth 600,000 euros will be provided to non-governmental organizations in the districts of the South-Development Region for the implementation of local projects in four sectors: water and sewerage supply, solid waste management, energy efficiency and responsibility for climate changes.
According to the Regional Centre for Assistance and Informing Non-Governmental Organizations, the NGOs from those eight districts of south Moldova, local public authorities, members of the Local Initiative Groups and Local Committees of Citizens participated in information sessions, where they took knowledge of the guide of the applicant and the model of documents from the application file.
„The project proposals can be submitted only online to the webpage www.eu4civilsociety.md, where the application forms can also be downloaded in the Romanian and Russian languages. The money provided can be used also for infrastructure elements only at a level of 50 per cent of the grant’s overall value and on the condition of existence of a partnership with the local authorities, which will take over the infrastructure object after the project is over,” sources of the project have told MOLDPRES.
NGOs eligible for financing must carry out their work in one of the following districts: Cahul, Cantemir, Causeni, Stefan Voda, Leova, Cimislia, Basarabeasca and Taraclia.
The local grants programme is launched based on the Single Support Framework for EU support to Moldova (2017-2020), provided from the European Neighbourhood Instrument, the EU-GIZ Citizens’ Empowerment in Moldova project (2019-2021) and implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). CRAION CONTACT-Cahul is the project’s partner in the South Development Region. Such grants are provided also to the NGOs from the Centru and North development regions, as well as from the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri.
