President visits south Moldova Gagauz autonomy

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today paid a working visit to the southern Gagauz Autonomy, the presidential press service has reported.
In the beginning, the head of state, along with Bashkan (governor) of Gagauzia Irina Vlah, inspected the works of construction of the football stadium from Comrat. The decision on the building of this object was taken at an official visit to Moldova by President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in October 2018. On visit to Gagauzia at that time, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan promised that he would construct a new stadium in Comrat.
The sports complex is built by Turkish partners and almost a half of the works have been finished. The overall investments amount to about 7 million euros. The stadium’s inauguration is scheduled for next summer. The stadium will have a capacity of 5,000 people audience. And the sports hall constructed nearby – about 120 people.
The Moldovan president welcomed the march of the construction works and thanked the Turkish friends for the support provided to carry out numerous projects in Moldova, especially in Gagauzia. Igor Dodon voiced confidence that the local residents who practice sport would appreciate the new stadium at its true value.
