Moldovan parliament speaker says citizens' well-being remains priority for Socialists

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - The priorities of the parliamentary faction of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), before the parliament’s spring session, were set forth at a today’s news conference held by the formation’s leadership. Among the party’s priorities, there will be the economic and regional development, a balanced foreign policy, efficient dialogue between the state’s powers, social protection and other subjects of major interest.   

„The citizens’ well-being and responsibility before the country stay at the basis of the priorities of the Party of Socialists in 2020 as well. We have been constant in what we earlier set to do; we remain like this in continuation, as the people expect the improvement of the living now and not in 5-10 years. Thus, the strengthening of Moldova’s statehood, guaranteeing the country’s neutrality status, the developed economy and social equity, the quality medicine and education, regional development and inter-ethnic peace remain to be principal and important for all PSRM representatives,” Parliament Speaker, PSRM leader Zinaida Greceanii said.    

Greceanii emphasized the efficient cooperation between the Presidency, Parliament and Government. She noted that “decision-makers will further work to minimize the poverty in Moldova, to develop the quality community services, create new jobs, increase the pensions and salaries, adapting themselves to the necessities.” “We backed this government and we commit to support the reforms in all important sectors for the citizens: medicine, education, justice. The people’s interest must be priority,” Zinaida Greceanii said.     

For her part, a PSRM lawmaker, Adela Raileanu, referred to the social aspect of the party’s work. “We will not allow any kinds of increases in prices and tariffs. We will check the way the prices are formed and we will endeavour, through legal mechanisms, to eliminate the monopoly from the economy. We will also do our utmost to increase the citizens’ revenues, either it is about the increase in pensions, or we refer to the social allocations or increase in the number of jobs,” Adela Raileanu specified.  

At the same time, at the news conference, PSRM MP, the party’s executive secretary Vlad Batrancea read a message, thereby accusing ‘the attacks and falsehoods from the public space, which hit the Party of Socialists, its members, as well as the head of state.” They were described as “manipulations, abuses and political blackmail.”  

To avoid speculations on PSRM’s activity, and the citizens be informed from the first source, Zinaida Greceanii said that such meeting with mass media would take place at the Socialists’ headquarters each week. Also, the PSRM lawmakers and councilors will have weekly meetings with citizens in the territory.
