Moldovan deputy premier meets Special Representative of OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Alexandru Flenchea today met Special Representatives of the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office for Transnistrian Settlement Thomas Mayr-Harting, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The deputy prime minister thanked the high-ranking official for his involvement in the file. Flenchea noted that this visit was a good occasion for the mutual presentation and coordination of plans and priorities for 2020.
A distinct subject, to which Alexandru Flenchea paid major attention, was the one of the human rights. The deputy PM put emphasis on the message to have an as active as possible contribution, including in the settlement of the cases with high impact, such as the ones of Moldova’s citizens Alexandr Rjavitin and Oleg Horjan, which, as a matter of fact, are not the only ones and have a “systemic” character. At a meeting with Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselsky, he clearly asked to tackle the concerned issue.
To give new impetuses to the processes on the dimension of Moldova’s reintegration and Transnistrian settlement, Flenchea informed that the government had approved the following priorities for 2020: freedom of movement in the Security Zone, human rights, situation with the buildings of the schools from the left bank of Dniester and harmonization of procedures, customs and fiscal tariffs and, respectively, measures of backing the trade between the sides and promoting exports, extending the public services for the residents from the Transnistrian region and defence of the human rights, joint control of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border on the Transnistrian segment, as well as some infrastructure projects, such as the restoration of the Chisinau-Odessa road, including the bridge Gura Bacului- Bacioc.
Not in the least, the officials reconfirmed the support for approaching the talks based on result. In this respect, the interlocutors agreed to maintain a working contact, in order to assess the opportunities to summon the 5+2 format, depending on the results achieved.
Deputy Prime Minister Flenchea reconfirmed Chisinau’s openness for more results, specifying that the latter, to a great extent, would depend on and would be related to Tiraspol’s actions.
