Chisinau-based Central Market has new acting director

Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/ - The municipal enterprise, Central Market of Chisinau, has a new acting director.
The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, today introduced the new acting director, Ion Pantea. He is jurist by profession and has earlier worked as legal councilor of the parliamentary faction of the Party of Socialists (PSRM).
Ceban demanded that the new manager till 1 April elaborates the concept of modernization of the Central Market and quick liquidation of the schemes of illegal taxation of selling places. “I demand the inventorying of those who work on the territory of the Market and quick eradication of the schemes of illicit taxation of the selling places. I demand that the native producers benefit from priority, according to the principle first come, first served,” Ion Ceban said.
The former acting director of the Central Market municipal enterprise, Iurie Vasilenco, has recently resigned from office. He was appointed to post by the former acting mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, in June 2019.
Experts estimate that the daily turnover from the Central Market varies between 9 and 19 million lei.
